What a blessing to be where God has placed me! My name is Tanteta Scott and I started working with New Hope Center in June of 2016. This is the role the Lord has prepared me for. My story starts long before my desire to pursue a degree in Social Work. As a child, I experienced what living in poverty is like. It was during a time that we moved from our car into a shelter that my want to do and give to others became my desire. I have strong memories of the fears I had in not knowing what was going to happen one moment to the next. Not knowing where our next meal would come from or where we would be sleeping that night. We lived in a world of Chaos for many years. It was through the shelter where our life started to become stable. It was in that moment that I knew I wanted to have that same positive impact on others.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Executive Assistant

April Miller

(903)783-0353

My name is April Miller.  I am a mom/bonus mom of two smart and sassy little girls that keep me going and I am beyond blessed to be a part of my New Hope family.  My title is Executive Assistant, doing daily tasks as they relate to bookkeeping and volunteers.  God and family are so important to me.  God has given me a heart for helping others.  My love for volunteer work began about seven years ago, when I was a part of Lamar County Meals on Wheels and it just grew from there.  Now, God has given me the opportunity to serve here at New Hope.  Just being one of the team members that get to help with our residents and be a part of their transitioning, just fills my heart with joy.

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Store Manager

Lisa Theye

(903)783-0353

My name is Lisa Theye, I have been with New Hope Center of Paris as the Thrift Store Manager.  I've always lived in this area, and spent my growing up years in Paris first, then Roxton, with my parents and three brothers.  My husband and I, along with our two daughters, still call Roxton home.  I graduated from Roxton High School in 1990 and pursued my A.S. at PJC, where I graduated in 1992. I have worked in office positions, computer tech, teaching, babysitting, direct sales, & the most rewarding job...stay-at-home Mom.

Some of my favorite things to do are: spend time with my family and church family, write, bake, and take long walks in the woods to enjoy God's creation.

I've always had a heart for the homeless. After my Mom died, I decided I wanted to go back to work and turn my pain into something positive where I could help others. New Hope Center of Paris seemed like the perfect fit. It's more than just a job to me... it's an opportunity to help others. I love my job! As a Christian, I know I have been abundantly blessed and God is directing my path. Proverbs 3:5-6
